About Fighting Edge

I’ve been a martial artist off and on since 1984. I’ve studied Aikido, Kung Fu, Judo, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Muay Thai and various styles of Filipino Martial Arts (Inosanto blend, Pekiti Tersia Kali, and Dog Brothers Martial arts)

I’ve trained with such legends as Royce Gracie, Rickson Gracie, Jimmy H. Woo, Grand Tuhon Leo Gaje, and many others.

I’ve spent considerable time researching knives, and knife fighting tactics from a variety of sources. I hope I can share what I’ve learned with all of you to help you choose and use a knife that will serve you well.

Almost every knife I’ll be reviewing will be from my private collection, and rest assured, I’ve used them all- be it for utility purposes, in training or even in actual full contact matches. You won’t get pie in the sky theory parroted from some knife “guru” I read about on the internet. You’ll get real world knowledge and experience that either comes from me, or from my training partners and instructors who do more than just read about fighting and talk about fighting on the internet. WE GET OUT THERE AND FIGHT.

I’ve fought in Judo & BJJ tournaments, at the Dog Brothers “Gathering of the Pack”, and other places I probably shouldn’t talk about. I certainly don’t know it all, not even close. But, I know B.S when I see/hear it, and B.S is something you won’t be getting from me.

Remember, a knife is deadly force, so use it accordingly. Only use it if you fear for your life, or great bodily harm. The only safe way to train is with dull training knives, and proper protection. Also make sure your training partners understand basic safety and good knife handling procedures, and that they know when to ease up.  I’m not gonna be responsible for you, so be an adult, and take what you read here as just my opinion, and not necessarily me telling you what to do.

So, with that said, welcome! Feel free to send me your questions, comments, and experiences.
